Anybody know this place?
Jul. 2nd, 2007 08:22 pmI was poking around in Google Earth, and happened upon a region in the Kamchatka peninsula with bright pink and orange mountains. The only label I could find was Gora Ketepana, and Googling around for that name produced nothing but maps to the location in question. Anyway, here's what it looks like at an angle from within Google Earth (I tilted it a mite to bring out the three dimensions). I imagine it's some sort of volcanic effect, given the nature of the peninsula, but I haven't seen it elsewhere. Anybody?
Algal bloom?
