Got this one from literary_equine.



Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.
Step 2: Post the first lines from the first 15 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING

added note - I skipped everything that was music only, or that I couldn't transcribe (mostly because of their being in Japanese). Some of these are going to be pretty easy, but I left 'em in anyway.

Well, I don't know any of 'em (all though I know a few to the tune of Cielito Lindo...) maybe I should...

You might be able to spot which three have the first line as title, even though it's a fair bet you aren't familiar with them. Most of the rest are filk (heck, one of the first-line title songs is filk) which is most of what I have on this computer other than instrumentals (Yolanda Kondonassis's harp album, Scintillation is a wonderful thing and well worth the aquisition if you can find it - I bought my copy via the site of a local music radio station after I'd heard some cuts played thereon.) And some Rasputina, which group rather counts as a genre all their own. :)

Someday, I am going to write a music meme predicated on the daring revelation that there are, in fact, musical works which don't happen to be "songs." If I were to do so, would you consider participating to see if it can be propagated some?

Sure. The only problem with doing it with this one was that I couldn't figure out what to substitute in print for lyrics.
