That was fun - I was driving home from LASFS and listening to K Mozart (KMZT-FM) which was playing some really lovely harp music, with, among other things, touches of chromatic scale which I hadn't heard on a harp before. Really gorgeous stuff. I waited for the end before getting out of the car, and they mentioned the name of the artist, which I promptly forgot, and that it was from her new album "Scintillations". I got halfway to the door and realized that I could probably look it up on the net, and maybe buy a copy. Alas, I couldn't recall her name by the time I got inside and Googling only got me a lot of usages of the term in lower case, mostly physics and reviews of things I didn't want. Then I had a rush of brains to the head and looked up KMZT's site. Sure enough, they had a list of everything they'd played and a link to where you could buy the CD. The list only had the name of the specific piece, so I would never have located it by that, but figuring it out from the time I clicked on the link anyway, and sure enough there it was - "Scintillation" (no s) by Yolanda Kondanassis. There was also a list of the contents, including Claude Debussy's "Danse sacree et danse profane", my favorite Ravel piece "Pavane pour une infante defunte" and a few other meritorious things. I've ordered a copy and should receive it in a few days. Here's a link should anybody else be interested in checking this out.

Now THAT'S convenient!

What's not so convenient is that the entry screen just blew up on me - had to copy the post I'd just made and run over to the My LJ page and try again. If you don't see this, it didn't work. :) Anybody else have problems?

The comment forms seem to be working ok. Are you using the online web forms for your posting or a remote client? I have had comment posts fail before - I suspect a database glitch. It's been much more dependable the past couple months.

Aren't radio online playlists grand? I've spend more money on music thanks to them. :D

Online, and I suspect it was just some random event because I haven't had the problem since. I did just discover that when I forgot that I was still writing a comment to addlesee below and clicked on your comment to answer, it moved the reply window with the comment still in it, then when I hit save saved it after your comment instead. That, however, really does strike me as a feature, not a bug.

I'm sorry but I live in Columbus Georgia now and I've been "retired" from furdom since they more-or-less showed me the door back in 2000. I still get published occasionally, most recently in FURRLOUGH #152 and will be again with a sequel to that story. Also, I'm trying to find a home for CARC & 'SLIDE. But if Califur wants to invite me as a guest, I'm game.

And fur as I know furdom is entirely too amorphous to successfully kick anybody out. Witness the occasional "What're [fill in the blank] doing in OUR fandom." arguments or the ever popular "OMG, the Media Think We're Perverts!" No biggie in any case. Nice to hear from you!

They didn't give me the boot, but they showed me the door. It was a matter of priorities. I put in seven years in furdom, a boatload of published credits, and I was STILL the "Great Unknown" outside of Tucson. Heck, I was known more for what I wore on my head than my artistic talent.
