kayshaperoThis is actually the Sept 16 entry - didn't have time to get onto live journal for a couple of days.
Day before was interesting. Went to a party and was introduced to a word-creating card game called "Palabra", nicknamed "Pirate Scrabble" by the rest of us, because it has rules that let you swipe points from other players.. Wound up with a hand consisting of UNIXBGS - they wouldn't let me use UNIX so we wound up with BUGS. (Hey, put those pillows DOWN!)
The hosts have a chair with a sketchbook attached to it, the idea being whoever sits there must put something in the book. Not wishing to inflict my artistic lack of style on them, I wrote a filksong instead. It's not in the book yet because I didn't finish it until I was on my way home, however next week's LAFA sing is there so I can do it then. Just as well, really - now I can come up with a tune for it first and sing it to everybody. I may even inflict it on you folks in here eventually, though more likely you'll have to wait until I get around to adding it to my site.
Meanwhile, here's today's.
I'm happy! Yesterday I got two tickets to the Eric Bogle concert at McCabe's next month and there wasn't even a line. I also picked up a shaker egg to add to the random noisemakers I keep in my filk bag, a small Peruvian ocarina that doubles as a pendant, and a pennywhistle. Friends within earshot have been warned.... :->
