Yesterday I went to the store in search of new clothes, and the first pair of jeans I found was in my size. Tried them on and... they fit. The world stands spellbound in the presense of a miracle. :->
Of course there was another nice looking pair of pants that were the right size and cut, but, alas, had a zipper on the side without a button at the top, which proved to be impossible to do up without three hands. I don't really need clothes I can't put on by myself, so reluctantly passed on them.
In other silliness, the other day I got an email saying that I had won a contest involving the TV show Jeremiah. Being unaware that I had entered one, I nearly dumped it into the catbox, but since I recognized the sender of the message (and figured a random spammer wouldn't know I was a fan of the show) I decided to at least take a look at it, and lo and behold I *had* entered and won a contest by being one of the large number of folks who used the contest host's site to send email to various tv bigwigs in support of the show. I just received my prize - a Jeremiah T-Shirt with "Ask Me About An ASS Kicking" (with stick figures demonstrating same) on it. This I plan to wear to LOSCON as it should go nicely with one of the giant squeaky mallets a friend so graciously presented me with awhile back.
And more B5 episode notes:
Episode 20 - Babylon Squared
Another part of the long term plot begun last episode, though the connections aren’t visible yet.
Sinclair and Garibaldi play a practical joke on Ivanova at breakfast. Its not *always* serious around here. :->
The reapparance of Babylon 4, something we won’t know all about for a couple of years yet. “Fasten/zip” - people do have the silliest conversations on occasion.
Delenn goes to visit the Grey Council ship. They try to boot her upstairs and she won’t go. And of course later she boots THEM... :->
Sinclair’s vision of the future wherein Babylon 5 is invaded by a force we don’t see, and trying to evacuate as many as they can. Garibaldi gets to be a hero. We’ll see more of this later too - mercifully it turns out to be the alternative not taken. But we won’t know the details until War Without End late in the third season. Again, signs and portents.
Enter Zathras. Rarely has a situation been described so accurately and so misleadingly.
And back to Delenn and the Gray Council. Which subplot will prove to have far more to do with the Babylon 4 plot than now appears, especially the references to Valen. She receives the Triluminary. This will be come significant almost immediately, though again full understanding will take awhile.
Sinclair “I tried to warn them, but it all happened the same as it did before.” About what? Wait two episodes for Garibaldi’s part of it, two seasons for the rest.
And Ivanova’s prophetic words. “Next time I’m going and Garibaldi is staying here.”
