For those who know I live in Los Angeles and not in what part (and the LA metropolitan area is HUGE), and have been watching the news lately, relax, the fires are nowhere near me (or the Golds, who live about a mile from me). Here, clipped from the Google Earth image of the LA area, taken from about 66 miles up is an image of where I am, roughly, and the towns nearest the fires (which far as I know are not actually ON fire.)

From crud in the atmosphere, if nothing else, though I gather there's not much wind to distribute it. Here, the prevailing winds blow east, so there's been no trouble.

I'll settle for being glad that northern fire is NORTH of La Canada Flintridge, given that things like Pasadena and JPL are south of it.

Every year, it's "OMG!! California's burning to the ground!"

Too little reporting, too much spin and speculation.

Makes you want to go out and lynch a few L.A. TV station "reporters".
