Cereal construction

I'm currently watching this on the Food Network. It's a competition where people are building skylines of various cities, including New York. Out of cereal (mostly Rice Krispies from the looks of some of it.) With all the serious stuff going on lately, it's kind of relaxing to contemplate Baltimore built of Rice Krispies, or New York formed from sugar.

Meanwhile, Gustav has passed and judging by the news, NO is still standing... now if only the levies continue to hold.

Dear Republican Party

Please never hold your National Convention in Los Angeles. Cops and rent-a-cops in your vicinity seem to lose a hefty amount of common sense - first go read this, then go look at this journal permibus for an egregious example. You are not prepared for some of the perfectly normal things we see in LA every day, and I shudder to contemplate the possibilities.
