Bleah..

Sigh... actually it's not too bad now, but sortly after the year started I caught this annoying thing that wasn't the flu (for that they actually have a treatment), no it just had me stuck in bed for three days coughing up more mucus than I thought existed, then pretty much out of action for a couple of weeks. I'm sort of recovered, except that my throat still hurts from all that coughing. At least it does seem to be recovering, and it's not like I have to sing in the near future. (Vicky caught this thing, and threw it off after two days. Oh to have a 16 year old's metabolism...)

We got the roof replaced. As a result, the garage is now full of sawdust. Oh well...

Got something weird from my brother for Christmas - a book entitled "Why Paint Cats". Either someone has an impressive hand with Photoshop or knows some amazingly calm cats - it's a lot of pictures of cats supposedly painted in various patterns with vegetable dyes, with commentary on the art styles thus shown. General opinion is this is a hoax (for one thing, I don't see any references to cat painting on the net other than paintings OF cats, discussions of this book, and a regrettable case where some people spraypainted two cats for invading their garden, both of which kitties survived, but one had to have all its fur shaved off) but it's fascinating for all that.
