Yeeps!

I take a look at the map on Weather Underground site and am reminded of one big reason I am glad I live in Los Angeles. The worst we get from hurricanes is a bit of rain from the remotest fringes (like happened day before yesterday). My prayers for you folks on the Gulf Coast... good luck!

Thanks for the link to the site, [livejournal.com profile] filkertom!

Yeah, but here in the hills of New Mexico, I'm not so likely to go sliding into the Pacific, either...

That is a cool site. I've bookmarked it. Weather.com (http://www.weather.com) seems so commercial in comparison.

True, true. I suppose I could jump into Navajo Lake...

In some contexts, boring is good. Southern Ontario doesn't get hurricanes (just the occasional remnants). We only get tiny earthquakes. No volcanoes.

Weather Underground is a fantastic site.

I think everybody gets some form of disaster... we're stuck right between tornadoes (tornados?) and forest fires. Right in the golfball-sized-hail zone...
