Speaking of crossposting

b) is it possible to crosspost comments from LJ to here?

a+b) Not automatically, you'll have to run Dreamwidth's import tool after the post (and the comments) are on LJ.

At least that's the impression I have.

Yes - the import tool will pull over both entries and comments, but you have to run it manually. Once a month seems like a good schedule.

Alternatively you could do what I did and click the checkbox that turns off comments on LJ for crossposts, and edit your footer to direct comments here. (Anyone with an LJ account can post comments here using OpenID.)

Thanks, will do the monthly import tool trick for now, though if discussions start getting noisy I'll force them to a single venue. Given how few comments I generally get I suspect once a month will do just fine.
