This sounds like my PDA purchase. I set out to buy a PDA that would let me read e-books, would run the Palm version of Readerware (book inventory database), and "other stuff". The other stuff all seemed optional, as I was getting along fine without it. But now I'd miss most (after the first 2 items) the calendar which synchs with my long-used Now Up-To-Date on my Mac, and all the notes. The family medical history note, the current medications note, the cholesterol readings, the "what to ask the doctor next time" and "what the doctor said last time" notes, a couple of TMI topics, and a whole bunch of bits of information that I need occasionally but my aging brain won't hold on to.
